What I Wore

What’s in my Bag?

I decided to write this post after my hubby asked me what I was carrying in my handbag because he found it to be heavy. Without missing a beat, I looked at him with a straight face and retorted, EVERYTHING! I know you all can relate. When I leave the house, I momentarily panic as I try to figure out if I’m prepared and have everything I need. You never know when one of life’s little emergencies can pop up. When I left for work that day I noticed women with large handbags, multiple handbags and tiny handbags and it made me wonder what they were toting in their handbags.

Here is a list of my essentials that I never leave home without – but this does not in any way fully encompass EVERYTHING that I lug around in my handbag at any given moment.

Blotting/ shine powder – I tend to get a little shiny during the day. I like to use a blotting powder to absorb the shine. Clinique’s Stay Matte Blotting Powder is the perfect solution. It stays matte and leaves you looking fresh. The best thing about it is that it’s lightweight and colorless. Just a few dabs and you’re good to go.

Tiny bottle of perfume – Perfume tends to fade throughout the day. Having your signature scent on hand is a perfect fix. Tory Burch’s Jolie Fleur Verte Rollerball is my favorite. I love the hint of mandarin. It’s light and crisp.  It’s an instant pick me up.

Lipstick (1, 2 or maybe 5) – I have a go-to lip shade that I wear practically everyday; but there are occasions when you need to transform your look in a flash. If I’m going from the office and out for drinks after work, a change of lipstick can change-up your look. This is why I carry a makeup bag filled with lipstick. My go-to shade is NYX’s Abu Dhabi and if I need a pop of color I use The shade Srsly Red by Bare Minerals.

Hand sanitizer – I’m ride public transit every day to and from work and hand sanitizer has become my best friend. I don’t think any more needs to be said about that…

Phone Charger – Luckily, you can find a place to charge your battery just about anywhere. A portable charger is most ideal. There no need to search for outlets, you can charge your phone from anywhere.
