How to Wear the Pajama Trend

When I think of comfortable clothing, my pajamas are probably the most comfortable clothing that I own. The closest you can get to wearing pajama inspired clothing is by actually wearing pjs. This is not a joke. Wearing pjs in colorful prints and luxe fabrics is an easy way to achieve an effortlessly stylish look.

There are a few simple tips that will have you on the right track.

How to Wear the Pajama Trend

Incorporate classics: Pair your pajama styles with classic pieces. My pencil skirt offsets the casualness of my top. Also a silky pj top would look great with a classic pair of skinnies.

Texturize: A  complete silky pajama look may be intimidating if this is your first time pulling off this style. You can ease into it by wearing a single pajama piece at a time. Try wearing satin pj bottoms with a chunky knit sweater for a comfy look.

Put you best foot forward: I’m a big proponent of wearing heels even if they don’t always leave my feet feeling good. The loafer mule is so understated that they make a huge impact to your overall look. They remind me of slippers but you won’t be shuffling around looking frumpy in them. Luxury brands such as Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo and Michael Kors are capitalizing on the trend; but there are so many versions of the style at every price point – that anyone can wear the style.  The loafer shape of the shoe is classic and polished enough to wear to the office. The ability to slide in and out of the shoe makes the style easy.
