What I Wore

Lots of Love for Culottes

Whether you refer to them as culottes or gaucho pants, you should definitely get a hold of them this summer. I’m impartial to retro styles, particularly those from the 70s. Fashion repeats itself and great style has a way of being reinvented to adjust with the changing of times. It’s no surprise that culottes have been reinvented decade after decade. This easy style has a silhouette that is complimentary on all frames. Even my fellow short girls can wear them too!

Tip of the Day: If maneuvering your way around culottes is new to you, do not be scared. Just remember to keep it simple. Culottes in a solid color worn with a tee is a great casual and effortless look. If you are wearing culottes that bear a print, pair with a solid top. High waist styles counter the volume of the pants. They create the visual of a smaller waist. For a modern look, pair with a crop top.

The best part about these pants is that the style puts the focal point on your shoes. Pointy heels create a sleek and elongated appearance. Chunky heels or tennies can give your look a little more flair. Choose your shoe based on your personal style and the place you’re wearing them to. These pants can literally be worn for any occasion, for a sporty weekend look, date night, travel and in the conference room.

If you haven’t guessed it by now, I am big on getting maximum usage out of pieces. Culottes are not only versatile, but they are a great transitional piece. They can be worn well into the fall. A turtleneck, blazer and ankle boots are a great look for chilly fall weather.

Culottes have proven to be more than just a fad. Their staying power makes them totally worthy of being worn by the masses. Wont you give them a try?1499639340846 IMG_5075 1499637570353 1499639379327 1499639423294
