What I Wore

The Deconstructed Suit

Being a 30 something, I have come to the conclusion that there are certain pieces that one must possess. One item being a suit. Though I am a 30 something, I still feel like a kid at heart  and there is something about a suit that feels so severe. It makes me think of going on a job interview and seems really sterile.

When I think of a suit style that reflects my personal style the word deconstructed comes to mind. Traditionally, a deconstructed suit refers to a suit/ jacket that has no shoulder pads or lining. For me a deconstructed suit is a relaxed look, that consists of separates worn together to create a cohesive yet less severe suit alternative.

I decided to suit up with cool elements incorporated in my look. I added a tee for a relaxed feel. Then added mesh pumps with lining that have a pop of color. The end result is an eclectic look filled with a lot of personality – my personality.

How do you put your personal touch on a suit?
