What I Wore

Summer Essentials

Each summer there are pieces noted as must-have items. I find at times the gamut of  “essential” attire can be frivolous and not entirely practical.

So, what are some pieces that everyone must have in their wardrobe?

White shirt- This is probably the most versatile item. It’s a neutral and can literally be worn with anything. You want to invest in pieces that you will wear over and over again and not items that you are only likely to wear once. Don’t get me wrong, I like buying interesting pieces that may not necessarily wear often; but those are items that I don’t exactly spend a lot of money on. I like being to express my individuality; which is why I like thrifting and shopping vintage to put my own spin on a essentials.

Shorts- are the epitome of summer. They are great for day and evening. The key is finding shorts that look great on your body. I like longer shorts that fall just short of my knee. It’s almost like wearing jeans but they are great for highlighting your calves with a killer pair of heels.

Jacket- A jacket is an all year round necessity. My office is usually freezing during the summer and sometimes summer evening can become cool. So you want to err on the side caution and always be prepared with a light jacket in tow. Jackets always add polish to an outfit and add an intriguing element. It makes people want to know what kind of fabulous we you have going under your jacket.

Leave the people wanting more!
