Last week I checked out the South End Bridal Showcase. I had an opportunity to visit a few local retailers to see what they have to offer.
Our first stop was Sophie Hughes Jewelry. By using recycled gold and silver she makes unique and elegant creations. We had the opportunity to watch the talented metalsmith craft a ring from start to finish, in her studio just above her beautiful showroom filled with treasures. She was so kind to explain the jewelry making process and how she obtains the materials to create her pieces.
Next stop, Olives and Grace. The quaint shop is tucked away on the bustling Tremont Street in the South End. It’s filled with thoughtful gifts mainly from local businesses. You can curate a gift box filled with goodies from a plethora of options from Tazo chocolate, orange vanilla cocktail syrup to wooden coasters that display maps of local Boston neighborhoods. My favorite items were the handmade leather baby booties (below). They’re so stinking cute.
Our last stop of the night was Table & Tulip. This floral design studio is magical. They are in the business of creating wonderfully imaginative floral arrangements for any occasion. While I feel that most floral shops have an ethereal feel; this shop sets itself apart from the others. Its cool locale and their ability to create great ambience; help you to imagine what it would be like to have them create floral arrangements for your special event.
Among a bevy of cafes and restaurants these businesses really shine. All three are featured on the Improper Bostonians’ Best of 2015 list. The South End has so much to offer. If you’re in the area you should stop by these shops to see why they are the best for yourself.
